Whoopi Goldberg To Quit Smoking
Jim Rohn said when you know the “Why”, you’ll find somehow find the “How”. Just lookWhoopi Goldberg. She found her “why” and then she got her “how”. Not only that, I believe her public declaration that she is going to stop smoking helped too. Been a celebrity who is always in the limelight, she will think twice about going back on her words. This is especially so when she had announced that she’ll be sharing her experience on national television. Through a weekly segment on the The View, called “Whoopi’s Kickin’ Butts”, Whoopi talks about the different ways to stop smoking, and a cessation method she chose for herself. She is also sharing her smoking history, and her reasons for quitting.
Well, according to Movie & Entertainment News provided by World Entertainment News Network:
Whoopi Goldberg is well on course to get her Christmas wish - and quit smoking. The Ghost star is down to two cigarettes a day with 10 days to go before Christmas Day (25 Dec 2007).
She admits she knew it was time to dump her bad habit after seeing a hard-hitting TV commercial, in which kids appeared to be breathing second-hand smoke. She says, “I saw this commercial where these little kids who were laying in the bed… and one of the kids breathes and the smoke comes out.
“Something about seeing those little kids exhale that smoke made me think, `OK, Whoop, maybe it’s time to stop.’” Now, Goldberg only has to control her book-buying obsession.
She adds, “I was addicted to books. I would go in and I would buy 20 books every time I passed the bookstore and then I realized I wasn’t reading any of them… I just wanted to buy them.”
Smokers out there can learn from Whoopi. If you really, really, are committed to quit smoking, tell the whole world. Announce it to everyone you meet so that they can cheer you on and will not offer you that cigarette that you are dying for. With support from those who care about you, it’s so much easier to quit smoking painlessly.
Kudos to Whoopi Goldberg
