For one, there were a lot of things that were "mommy's little helper", back then, that was a lot worse than smoking a cigarette and just because you grew up with parent's that smoked cigarettes and you seen all of the cigarette ads that use to be out there doesn't mean you will become a smoker. My parents smoked and growing up I thought "Joe Camel" was cool, but I never picked up a cigarette! I'm tired of everybody automatically thinking that people are "forced" to smoke due to ad's and because there family does. A person makes a choice to smoke if they make that choice it's there choice! No one makes someone become a smoker!

Granted the baby incourageing Mommy to smoke is a bit much for even me and even though they changed there ad direction and brought out the "Marlboro Man" doesn't mean that it wasn't still directed towards the fairer sex. Rugged man on horse = instant attraction for young women, hell even some older women.

Bottom line people are going to smoke and the bigger stink that's made about it the more there going to smoke. Take the "danger" away from smoking and our teenagers will quit wanting to light up. Teenagers are always seeking for a way to "get over" or do something "exciting and dangerous" and today's community make's smoking that "dangerous" challenge.

Don't get me wrong I don't think smoking is healthy by any means, but people are going to do what there told not to do. It's human nature.

Plenty of products since proven less than healthy have been marketed to all sectors of society. In a few years, check out what we will find out about soy products, and plastic water bottles - both the favorites of hippie anti-smokers today.
